Care, Counseling, and Support Groups Our pastoral staff are always available for counseling with those who wish to discuss spiritual questions or who are experiencing personal or family crises of any type. return to top of pageFirst Presbyterian Church of Upland has been to home of The Samaritan Counseling Center since 1973. The Reverend R. Scott Sullender, Ph.D., a Presbyterian minister and licensed psychologist along with the staff specilizes in serving adults, children and families. For more information about The Samaritan Counseling Center, click on the link in red. return to top of pageThe pastors of First Presbyterian Church of Upland visit those members of our congregation known to be ill or otherwise unable to attend church. Home communion is provided for those unable to attend worship. Visits are regularly scheduled with our homebound members and those in nursing homes. We give special emphasis during the seasons of Advent and Lent. return to top of pageFlower Ministry When a member of our church family dies, volunteers prepare and serve food for a simple reception at the church following the funeral or memorial service. return to top of pageFischer Garden AA and AL ANON Prayer Net Our "Partners in Prayer" ministry will offer an after-worship ministry of prayer immediately following the worship service. Our Prayer Partners will be in the north transcept and will be wearing a prayer stole. This is an invitation for anyone to receive prayer.
