Core Values Ministries of First Presbyterian Church of Upland Worship: We believe our God is worthy of a premier worship experience reflecting our faith in every aspect of our praise and devotion to God.
Evangelism: We believe lost people matter to God and therefore they matter to our ministries of evangelistic outreach.
Education: We believe in being true to our church's heritage. We are a teaching church and will educate the people in the Scriptures and in living the Christian life.
Mission: We believe in personal and collective involvement with God's children in an often unjust and hurting world, and in being a visible expression of reconciliation.
Discipleship: We believe in promoting an environment for intentional Christian maturity in fellowship through such means as stewardship, study, service and small-group ministry.
Structure: We value beauty of, and responsibility for, our church facilities and fiscal affairs consistent with the Apostle Paul's mandate to "do all things decently and in order."
Caring and Nurturing: We believe in the family and value the importance of children, youth, parents, seniors and singles; playing and learning together as we share our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Purpose
It is our purpose as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), to be and to become a community of grace, a people of praise, a loving congregation rooted in tradition, open to the Spirit disciples who proclaim and serve the Lord Jesus Christ in all we say and do to the glory of God for the salvation of humankind, for the healing and hope of the community, and for the reconciliation and peace of the world. |
